The Concentrator plant is a vital component of Oyu Tolgoi copper mining operation, serving as the bridge between raw ore extraction and the final stages of metal production. When copper ore is mined, it typically contains only a small percentage of copper. This low-grade material is uneconomical and inefficient to process directly, making the enrichment stage essential. At the plant, the ore undergoes physical and chemical processes, such as crushing, grinding, and flotation, to separate and concentrate the copper minerals. The resulting copper concentrate can contain much higher percent copper, significantly improving the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of subsequent smelting and refining stages.
The reliability service in the concentrator plant is a critical pillar of operational excellence. The main objective of the Reliability team of Concentrator plant is to ensure the reliable availability of the plant by performing scheduled maintenance and repair of unplanned breakdowns, and by performing diagnostics on equipment. Our team consists of Mechanical and Electrical teams.
